Project Engineering Manager

Contract: Full-time
Location(s): Cecina | Pisa


This role works in a multidisciplinary environment, with a particular focus on mechanical engineering projects. This role is responsible for: 

  • Review RfP documents and confirm scope of work and material selection based on Client specifications 
  • Coordinate with Team Leads to ensure timely delivery of estimations to support Proposal creation 
  • Coordinate design creation and delivery by the technical team, both internally and with suppliers, reviewing all documents before delivery to Client 
  • Interface with Client to receive responses to technical documents; communicate changes to technical team while controlling Project scope 
  • Establish and monitor Project costs against budget 
  • Establish and maintain Project delivery schedule based on Client requirements and Supplier workloads, coordination of drafting, purchasing (when applicable), construction (when applicable) and quality control 
  • Coordinate all Project-related technical and commercial correspondence, including all internal communications as well as communications with the Client and Suppliers 
  • Inform Sales and BU Manager(s) of Client-requested changes to Project scope and/or design that affect Project costs, interfacing with Client to manage “extras” 
  • Advise BU Manager(s) and Administration to ensure that Orders are updated according to agreements with Client regarding “extras” or other activities that change the price of the original order 
  • Maintain billing schedule with Administration, managing Work-in-Progress and payments in arrears 
  • Follow-up with Client to pursue subsequent projects and opportunities

Electrical Engineer (Senior)

Primary Responsabilities

  • Preparation of basic engineering electrical documents (HV, MV, LV single line diagrams, electrical protection) for industrial plants (Power, Oil & Gas, Chemical)
  • Perform calculation for load flow, short circuit, motor starting studies with specialized software (e.g. ETAP) and equipment sizing (e.g. transformers, switchgears)
  • Preparation of technical specification for electrical equipment (HV systems, MV and LV electrical panels, transformers, DC and AC system, UPS system, other electrical components etc.)
  • Participation in any HAZOP (Hazard & Operability Analysis) and/or SIL (Safety Instrument Loop) sessions
  • Proposal Support: analyzing and commenting Client’s specifications and requirements; estimating engineering deliverables both in terms of hours and resources (engineers, draftsmen, etc.)
  • Supplier Management: coordination with Suppliers for project documentation deliveries during proposals and managing responses in a timely fashion; technical evaluation of Supplier’s offers; supervision and coordination of Suppliers’ detail engineering; review of Suppliers’ documents; management of communications with Suppliers
  • Technical Support: coordination of electrical activities with other disciplines involved for multidisciplinary projects, both internally and with Suppliers; participation in Client & Stakeholder meetings

    Required Skills

    • Knowledge of international electrical engineering standards for Oil & Gas and Power plants
    • Knowledge of Electrical Hazardous area (ATEX)
    • Familiarity with typical schematic and functional diagrams for MV and LV (MCC) panels

    PDMS / AVEVA System Administrator

    Primary Responsabilities

    • General Aveva PDMS/E3D administration, including:
      • Creation and administration of PDMS/E3D projects (Global & non-Global)
      • Set up of databases, Draft environments, MDBs and users
      • Setup and administration of client-specific PDMS/E3D tools
    • Developing and managing piping, structural and Pipe Support database (Paragon & Specon)
    • Preparation and review of Navisworks models for both internal review and third-party and client use, including the development of custom automated extraction routines
    • Local customisation, troubleshooting and creation of PML utilities to suit project requirements
    • PDMS/E3D application testing, installation, implementation and add-on software integration, such as Aveva’s LFM (for Leica scans) and Laser Model Interface (LMI)
    • Production of training guides, project documentation and work instructions for users
    • Identification of procedures, project timelines and follow-up processes for Caesar II Pipe Stress Interface imports and exports

    Secondary Responsabilities

    • Preparation of Autocad Lisp routines as part of customisation of Autocad environment
